Tegan & Sara // A Texan Feast

Photography and music are two things I simply can’t live without. Basing my fall “I need change” photography/inspiration trip around a little artsy town called Marfa, I decided to slip in some Austin time, to add a music element. I confirmed my stay as soon as I found out that Tegan & Sara were touring through, at the infamous Stubb’s BBQ, which I was dying to go anyway. Stars do align, I guess!

Art Wars & Food Fights // A Double DOS of Friendly Competition

Never to be missed! Check out some highlights and awesome write up from Society Vernacular newest lady, Tedde Rae Albertson

La Carnita is Andrew Richmond and Amin Todai’s little pop-up that could…which is to say, could blow up, become a cult foodie obsession, and evolve into a permanent bricks-and-mortar restaurant on College. Although La Carnita is definitely not the only taco joint in the hood, it’s always stood out due to its other specialty: art. From the beginning, it’s been a focus for Richmond and Todai, and La Carnita’s signature “Meathead” image has been interpreted by numerous artists. After hosting UNO – a night of street art and food at the Evergreen Brickworks – last April, La Carnita was back this past Friday with DOS.

Field Tripping // Field Trip Music & Arts Festival 2013

It was very exciting to finally capture the Indie rock band Broken Social Scene who reunited this year as part of the Field Trip Music & Arts Festival at Toronto's Fort York & Garrison Common last Saturday.

More Canadian artists completed the lineup including bands like Feist, The Stars, Zeus, Jason Collett, Trust, The Darcys and many more from the Arts & Crafts label. Oh wait can't forget one of the best acts that day, Britain's Bloc Party who fully rocked their set.

Not only did the festival cover and bring together amazing bands, there was fantastic local art, gourmet food (it was food truck galore!) and unique elements of Toronto's proud culture to celebrate the record label's 10th anniversary!

Check out some of the highlights from the festival from Music to Fashion!

Enjoy ( I did!)
